|The Architectural Tour on Sunday begins at the Art Museum on Anapamu St. Once again we were led by my friend Howard Wittausch. In the upper left corner is a fountain dedicated to a Barber that knew how to keep his mouth shut. His shop in the La Arcada building was a meeting place for all the movers and shakers of the town and a place they knew that they could share information and it would go no further. When he passed away all his customers purchased the fountain for him.
The lower photo is of the side of the museum and the upper right photo is of what used to be the front door. The facade of the building fell off in the 1925 earthquake and was rebuilt shortly thereafter.
